About Ande

(she/her)

Meaghann Ande – better known as Ande by our team –  brings to Praxis a lifelong commitment to mission driven work, as well as 13 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and operations.

Having family in the nonprofit sector, Ande began learning the ropes early in life and brings her passion for the industry to every part of her work. She has filled just about every role available in nonprofit administration, with a particular emphasis on fundraising, including events, stewardship, and strategy. She is a talented grant writer, successfully securing grants up to $100,000 over the course of her career. Throughout her career, she has worked with Jewish community organizations such as the Mittleman Jewish Community Center and housing organizations like Share in Vancouver. She also spent one extremely busy year as Executive Director of Pink Lemonade Project.

In addition to her nonprofit and fundraising expertise, Ande has experience with strategic planning, project management, and message development. She has a deep commitment to justice and equity, and has a history of working with organizations that promote progressive values and fight for change.

If asked, she would tell you that housing is a human right, harm reduction is the best path toward a healthy lifestyle, and hummus is critical to nonprofit productivity.

When Ande asked her friends and kids what they would say if writing her bio, these were the responses:

“Ande loves coffee, gin, and cats.”

“Enjoys long walks through the tattered remains of her own psyche.”

“Might die from laughing too hard.”
